Meet Putnam City's newest celebrity, Lovely Zuniga Sosa, a 4th grader at Overholser Elementary! 🤩 A couple of months ago, author Scott Reintgen visited and talked with students about his popular books and gave students an opportunity to enter a nationwide contest to be written into his next book as an actual character! Well, skip to now and we have a winner! So now we're left wondering... is Lovely technically fiction or nonfiction? 📚
These 6th-grade Capps students are solving more than just math problems; they are making a difference in the community! After collecting food for the Capps Food Pantry in November, they decided they wanted to go even bigger for December. A group of about 100 students collected food and donated it all to City Center. Their math teacher, Mr. Cobb, said his goal is to instill in his students to "see a need...meet a need." 🤗
On this last day of school before Winter Break, the halls were filled with laughter, joy, and holiday cheer. ❄️ From cozy holiday PJs to jingling holiday parties, it was a perfect day to deck the halls with memories that will last all season long. 🎄
It was a chilly morning and the Kirkland Pirates were settled in for a story in the library when out walks The Grinch! Or, was it their Librarian?! With a mischievous grin from Grinch and some giggles from the students, they read "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" together with a fun twist. We think they all learned a little something about the holiday spirit and kindness. 💚
Check out Western Oaks Middle School Cheer on the big stage! 📣 The Warriors recently traveled to Dallas to compete in the NCA Regional State of Texas Championship and took 3rd place in the JH/MS Novice Division! Let's go, Warriors! Way to represent Oklahoma and PC Schools! 🤩

The Pirates spread some holiday vibes with their annual 12 Days of Christmas assembly. It was full of a lot of fun, a little bit of craziness, trendy games, music, and lots of dancing! Pete the Pirate did not miss a beat in his 12 days of giving this year! 🎄

For 18 years, PCW Yuletide has been a merry tradition! 🎄 This year, holly jolly laughter met Judge Judy drama and was topped off with wonderful fine arts performances to make a show like no other. ❄

Check out these hardworking Northridge Knights! ⚔️ 4th and 5th grade leadership students volunteered at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma recently with their School Counselor, Laura Hardee. The experience expanded students' understanding of good citizenship and contributing to meet the needs of others. They helped prepare almost 11,000lbs of food into over 3,000 bags for Oklahomans in just a few hours! 🤗

Students from 10 different elementary schools, staff, and family members came together at PC High for the highly anticipated annual PC Stars of the Future event! ✨ This event is always fun as it is their first time participating in Special Olympics. There were definitely plenty of star athletes in training. 🤩
PC North StuCo students teamed up with the PC Foundation to shop for the CareShare program! 🛒 These hardworking elves were able to check off several student wishlists thanks to generous donations to the PC Foundation from the community.

🔥Fire, sound waves, and disappearing water were just some of the amazing demonstrations brought to Cooper Middle School by Science Museum Oklahoma! This event was made possible by the generous support of Dr. Elliott and Pam Schwartz through their A/E/I/O/U Foundation. What a fun and engaging way to learn about STEAM and spark curiosity in young minds! 🧪

𝐸𝓋𝒶𝓃𝓈! 🤗 Jennifer Evans, Teacher at Ralph Downs Elementary, was recently recognized by the OKC City Council, Mayor David Holt, the Rotary Club of Oklahoma City, and the OKC Downtown Rotary as December's Teacher of the Month! Ms. Evans is a shining example of how our PC Teachers and Staff are making #EveryBeatCount!
The Superintendent's Student Advisory made its final stop at PC West this week. Our District leaders always enjoy talking with our students to discover what they're experiencing in school and how we can partner to improve things! 🤝
PC High Senior Pirate, Brayden Knox, made it official today in front of his family and peers, revealing that he's going to the University of North Texas to play football! 🏈 Congratulations, Brayden! Hard work pays off and we know you'll do great things with the Mean Green! 🟢
