We escaped the rain and caught up with students and teachers at the Putnam City Academy today! The rain definitely didn't dampen their creativity as we saw students working on everything from fashion design to crocheting, painting to even cooking. We can't wait to come back and try out some of those chicken fajitas 😉 #GoBoldly

Celebrating a tea-riffic year, the Leading Ladies of Hilldale Elementary attended their first-ever fancy tea party! 🫖 Teachers and Leading Ladies Sponsors, Ms. Banks and Ms. Baker, created this club for students to learn etiquette, practice self-care, and form new friendships. After working hard and having fun all year, a tea party was the perfect excuse for the Leading Ladies to dress up and feel fancy in order to celebrate and demonstrate their new skills.

Who knew that a cake made with beets could taste so sweet! Sodexo at Putnam City Schools Child Nutrition brought back another original recipe, Beetnik Cake, and it was served at all the schools on Friday. Social media exclusive secret... a lot of the kids said it was just a brownie. Should we tell them about the veggies inside? 😜

Putnam City Announces Weapon Detection System Putnam City Schools is proud to announce deployment of a new Weapon Detection System for use in the District’s high schools. The system will be used at Putnam City High, Putnam City North, Putnam City West and the Putnam City Academy. Putnam City’s Board of Education unanimously approved the purchase last Fall and District leadership has been working on installation and training at each of our high schools in the months since. This non-invasive system is designed to detect weapons either on a person or inside their bag or backpack without slowing the normal flow of foot traffic into our buildings. It will be in place inside the main entrances used by students each morning. This same system has been used at many events around the Metro including the State Fair of Oklahoma. Putnam City Campus Police Chief Mark Stout said “this system has proven to be effective at detecting weapons and we’re confident its use will make our schools safer. Our Campus Police Department and building administrators have been fully trained and are prepared to put the system to use this week.” Putnam City Schools Chief Communications Officer Jeff Bardach added, “the safety of our students, employees and guests is our top priority. Our District Safe Schools Committee researched and recommended this system and we’re proud to have it in place to help protect our schools. We’re grateful to our Board of Education for approving the purchase and use of this system.” As a reminder to our families and guests, weapons are not permitted on any Putnam City School campus. District Policy BE: Weapons: The District prohibits the possession and/or use of weapons and firearms on District property … Employees and students who violate this provision will be subject to disciplinary action.
