A letter from the captain

We are in full swing now for the 23-24 school year. I am
proud of the fantastic achievements we have seen here at
Putnam City already. Our one-act play team finished second
overall at regionals, with the tech team taking first in their
category. Tanner Wood made the all-state cheer squad and
won Homecoming King. Judson Keefer won Player of the
Week for the Oklahoman. The band took 7th place at the
Deer Creek Invitational, and there are so many more
incredible achievements that I can't list them all. We are
seeing so much success and improvement this year; it is
astounding.

With all of that success also comes the challenge to better
ourselves in other areas as well. I want to encourage
students and parents to focus on school attendance and
make it a priority. I want to bring food trucks into the
courtyard and other exciting things. However, for this to
happen, we must see improved attendance and punctuality
in getting to class. The first key to success is being punctual,
being where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to
be there and being reliable. Students, the things you can
accomplish by simply prioritizing your attendance will amaze
you.

The first quarter is almost done. Let's make these next nine
weeks our best quarter ever. It's important to remember that
success is achieved by conquering one small step at a time.
So, take that first step by coming to school. Success is
waiting here for you every day. The question is, will you be
here to receive it? I know you will be! Remember, it's always
a great day to be a PIRATE!
