Thanksgiving spirit in action! 🤗 Child Nutrition prepared all the fixings, and then high school leaders stepped up to serve the delicious Thanksgiving lunch to our elementary students, spreading joy and setting an example across our District.🍴
🥧 Elementary students made their own pumpkin pies while learning about all the vitamins and healthy benefits of a pumpkin from our District's amazing Registered Dietitian at Sodexo at Putnam City Schools Child Nutrition! Fun fact, did you know a pumpkin is a fruit? 🎃

🌎 For Native American Heritage Month, many schools across the District are recognizing the vibrant history and culture in fun, meaningful, and creative ways. This morning we stopped by Ralph Downs Elementary as they had a great demonstration from PC Native American Student Services and Overholser Elementary with performances by Riverside Indian School.
Voting is an important duty, especially when it's about your favorite food. 🍔🥤 Students at Coronado Heights Elementary made their own voter ID cards and then took to the polls to do their civic duty today. Yes, they even got the coveted sticker afterward. 🗳️
It's all strategy, patience, and sportsmanship at the annual Putnam City Schools middle school chess tournament! ♟️
There were so many creative book characters roaming our halls in the District today! We don't know who had more fun dressing up, the students or the staff. 👻
Trick or treating should be fun for everyone. 🎃 Central Elementary taught some students the ins and outs of safe trick or treating with alternative forms of communication, individualizing the experience for each student's needs. The students will take home the bracelets to use with their families for the real fun tonight. 👻 Remember to be patient with all the little trick or treaters out and about tonight! 🤗
We have farmers, workers, shoppers, and tractor drivers hard at work in Wiley Post Elementary Pre-K. 🌾 These students built their own pumpkin patch out of paper, working on fine motor skills, creativity, customer service, and learning the life cycle of the pumpkin. 🎃 If you ask nicely, they might take you around on the hay ride. 🧑🌾

Honoring his legendary contributions to Putnam City High, the NFL, and Oklahoma, this night celebrated the legacy of a true Pirate and his inspiring career. And the honor goes to... Mrs. Stevens!🏆️ She was awarded as the Oklahoma Association for Bilingual Education’s Support Staff Employee of the Year, a recognition she truly deserves. With 23 years of dedicated service in PC Schools, Mrs. Stevens has made significant contributions throughout our district. She began her career as a childcare teacher for Even Start at Central Elementary, where she worked for four years. During this time, she also took on responsibilities with the adult ESL class at PC Center and translated for parent-teacher conferences at Central for about 15 years. Since 2021, she has been a valued staff member at PC West High School. Mrs. Stevens has witnessed our District's growth, and we are thrilled to celebrate this moment and see her hard work pay off!

🪖 Right on Target, Campus Police Teaches JROTC at the Range 🚔
Talk about a unique experience! PCW and PCH JROTC Cadets joined forces with our very own Putnam City Campus Police at the gun range, learning critical gun safety and trying out some pretty cool machinery guided by the professionals. Campus Police then topped off the experience by grilling up some lunch for the cadets.
